Olive Garden Sherriff

Such a funny night....tonight we really felt like we needed a "break from it all". So we decided to take the money that Andrew got for his birthday and got out for a fun family night. We ended up at the Olive Garden. It was really nice. I had the yummiest Ziti ever and the best service ever! We walked right in, no waiting list, and had immediate, happy, efficient service. What a treat. Austin was asking a lot of questions about the experience the whole time. I explained what the servers did and how. He said, "Oh! That's why they have those pockets for paper." He was right on! Then he wanted to see the Chef. He wondered if he was wearing a big hat. So, we found our server and asked her what she thought. She found a manager who got the Head Chef to come out and talk to Austin. He told him how he had been there for 15 years, and had 27 cooks in the kitchen at that time. He said it was one person's job to make the salads, one person's job to just saute all night, etc. It was kinda interesting. Amiah thought it was pretty great too. She kept calling him the "Sherriff"...NO sissy..."Chef"! Austin also noticed that he didn't have any of those pockets for paper either. He had a pretty snazzy white coat! It was a very nice gesture, and quite surprising. I've been to the Olive Garden millions of times, but by far, this visit outweighs any other visit by miles. Anyway, kudos to the Olive Garden and good customer service tonight. (And for satisfying a very inquistive 4 year old little boys mind). Afterward, he spent the rest of his birthday money on a new baseball glove for himself and a soft tee ball. He is one of the Asst. Coach's afterall! I love it...........
